Hello! My name is Katrina Krause. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2022, with a Bachelors Degree in Filmmaking and a minor in Photography.
The most recent project I worked on was No One Will Save You. I worked as a Post Production Assistant.
● Overall management of various tasks and services to support a dedicated editing team, including but not limited to schedule coordination, timecard management, general hospitality, and fulfillment of ad hoc requests.
● Daily engagement with all team members including Director, Assistant Director, Editor, 1st Assistant Editor, 2nd Assistant Editor and Editing Supervisor.
● Assisted in the coordination and success of pre-screening events.
● Participated in editing sessions throughout the film process with the Director and Editor.
My first experience as a filmmaker was editing family vacation videos throughout my high school years. From there I expanded my editing knowledge by taking a film class in high school and learning the ins and outs of the software, Adobe Premiere Pro. Since then, I became part of the Columbia College Chicago family, first to be a cinematographer; and have since found a real passion for editing. My passion for editing came from having the ability to truly build and tell a story. I also love the idea of editing to sound and creating a rhythm to help build emotion throughout an edit. I am hardworking, easygoing and disciplined in my approach to filming and editing. I also recognize that the success of any project comes down to communication and teamwork. In addition, I have specific experience with narrative filmmaking as well as editing documentaries, experimental films, and most recently short form.
I also dabble in photography as it was my minor at Columbia and have been publicly recognized for my work in this area. I love being busy and I excel at time management. During my free time you will find me traveling, watching movies, doing puzzles, painting or creating my own film and photography projects.
